About me

Pearl Lorentzen is a journalist and poet, who occasionally writes fiction. She is the 2021 recipient of the Canadian Mental Health Association Communications Award (for Alberta).


Pearl's poetry has appeared in Visual Verse, the Glass Buffalo, and The Liar. Her fiction has been published in AE scifi. 

Pearl runs the writers' group at the Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library. In 2019, she taught a children's writing workshops at an art camp. 


She has an MA in creative writing the novel from Brunel University London, and a BA in linguistics with a minor in creative writing from the University of Alberta.
