About me

I am an author,  reporter, and photographer in Slave Lake AB. Along with my day job in journalism, I write poetry, fiction and scripts.

Fascinated by language in motley and marvellous forms, I write to express the stories rattling around in my head. Multiculturalism permeates my work, reflecting the complex nature of the North American experience.

I have an MA in creative writing the novel at Brunel University London, and a BA in linguistics with a minor in creative writing from the University of Alberta. I have recently published some poems on Visual Verse and have a sci-fi micro-fiction coming out soon.

I am writing on a novel about women in Canada set in four different centuries.

I run the writers' group at the Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are meeting digitally. I also taught children's writing workshops at an art camp last summer.
